Crowntail (CT)
Long fins selection in which breeders seek symmetry tipical of Halfmoon, from which they differ in a significant webbing reduction of the three primary fins over the rays.
These, being longer, they give the tail the aspect of a crown, hence the name.
The greater the symmetry and the webbing reduction (as close as possible to 50%), the higher the value of the specimen.
Crowntail Double ray
In some specimens, known as Double ray, two secondary rays stick out over the webbing for every primary ray.
King Crowntail
In King Crowntail Bettas those sticking out rays cross one another.
Combtail
This selection is somewhere between the Crowntail one and the others who present a full webbing till the end of the rays.
These specimens present a webbing reduction similar to the Crowntail ones but well below (Bettas with a reduction over the 33% are considered Crowntail)
